I played with the Old Hours today for a performance video they put together with dreadnought cinema. I really love playing their songs with them. Their harmonies have a certain ease to them and they certainly seem comfortable with their music. It was a good evening and i appreciate them inviting me back. Should be done by Friday and ill be sure to post it.

Dawes - When My Time Comes
If you are 20 something years old and trying your best to be a good man then this song oughta grind on you in the best of ways.
to want something better, then the shape your in
the rain came at the break of day
your light in the windowpane, said come on in
Its a broken heart babe, i know the sound
Feels like your hands, are nailed to the ground
but it’ll pass just like everything else
you won’t let it get to me, the next time around
Its a hard earn victory
The life that come from you to me
can never be wrong
Grown from a moment and a million miles
here lies the stardust and it slowly dies
borrowed from nothing come back half alive
and the stars the whisper blessings as you walk by
“It’s not that simple” - Honeycutters
Here’s a good song to make your soul cry in the best of ways. My buddy Wes found this gem earlier today. Enjoy.
The Returning Half. - Jared Kolesar and the Hot Texas Funk.
She’s a Woman - Jared Kolesar and The Hot Texas Funk
If your a Ray LaMontagne fan, or just a good person in general, you will enjoy this song. It’s a rough recording and theres a bunch of studio banter in the beginning (which I love) but at about 1:20 the song starts and man… is it good. Ray’s voice burns like bad whiskey, its a juxtaposition of contradictions, rough and gentle, raspy and smooth. His voice falls somewhere between tortured and saved, and leaves you feeling much the same. Enjoy.
Yup. This song does it for me. Dirty. That long and low acoustic drone that sweats blood. Perfect. Enjoy.
If you have a minute and you’re looking at this, you should listen to it. You won’t regret it.
Alright, I have posted a lot of Americana/blues/bluegrass/folkster/Indie music lately but these guys take the cake. Another male, female, duo (seems to be the trend lately). These guys are so cool, honestly, if you got a min, watch these two music videos I have posted, you wont regret it. If you like the Civil Wars, or Shovels and Rope, (the other two duo’s Ive posted) then you will love this. Its haunting, dirty, grimy, folky, bluesy, down home dirty bar blues, with just a kick of country and Indie rock. This beautiful girl and legit fella know how to do it. It’s perfect. Fucking enjoy this one, its brilliant. Cheers! (videos posted below)
