La Jolla: Bachelor Party and Maritime Museum
I’m in La Jolla, California (San Diego) this weekend for my future brother-in-laws Bachelor party which has been a pleasant mixture of insanity and relaxation… His buddies rented out an amazing house looking over the ocean and have been taking him out every night to celebrate. Its been great so far, and exhausting in the best way. Today I was able to get away for awhile with my Dad...

Good Music: Gillian Welch
Gillian is awesome. I love old timey music… All of her work for O’ Brother Where Art Thou, and Cold Mountain, was amazing.

Good Music: Joe Pug
I had the pleasure of seeing this guy live on Saturday night with my girlfriend, and a handful of my good buddies. He preformed just down the street at the Sail Inn in Tempe. A rather dusty rock n roll club with dark corners, and cheap beer. The venue was perfect for him. His music is raw, and most folks compare him to Bob Dylan, but i really feel that he has his own original sound. His music...

Shakey Graves
Good music:
This guy Shakey Graves gets it. A Texas born guitar strummer, Shakey’s music is natural, easy, and rolls like a train. His foot stomping, bluesy, indie folk is loose but tight, rough and fluid. His music comments on the old, hints at the new, and finds itself lying somewhere in-between. I dig this guys sound. Enjoy.
VICTORY!
VICTORY!!!
I have defeated my Spring Semester of 2011 at ASU. Finals were rough as hell but with some hard studying and my good luck, I think i did well on every last one of them. Looking forward to celebrating tonight with friends over a nice Kilt lifter Ale at the good ol’ Four Peaks Brewery. Life is good, and I embrace summer fully.

I cannot rest from travel: I will drink
Life to the lees:
– all times I have enjoyed
Greatly, have suffered greatly, both with those
That loved me, and alone; on shore, and when
Through scudding drifts the rainy Hyades
Vest the dim sea: I am become a name;
For always roaming with a hungry heart

Good Music
MUSIC:
I have to admit, I can be a bit of a music snob at times. These are two bands/songs that I really love. They rejuvenate my faith in music. Ryan Adams is an artist that I truly love, and I’m sure to post more of his music. His song Carolina Rain, lyrically, is one of my favorite songs of all time. The story that he tells is so dramatic, and southern folky it almost hurts…
